Activities

A group of young people active in Thessaloniki thought and proposed a series of actions aimed at increasing the participation of people with fewer opportunities in society as a whole. Although sport alone cannot solve all the problems associated with disadvantaged groups, in combination with other measures it has the potential to contribute to the integration and social acceptance of different groups. Integration into sport is achieved through the improvement of athletic skills that requires long-term participation and social interaction. Therefore sports bodies can create favorable conditions for further integration processes. Sport is one of the most effective ways of social inclusion and must continue to receive greater support and encouragement from the European Union. This project is beneficial for strengthening support for people with disabilities or for combating discrimination. During the project more young people with fewer opportunities experience more positive results. To achieve the above the youth team designed a series of activities for the preparation, implementetion, inform and presantation of the programm.

– 5 Webinars between the participants where they will discuss about the management and preparetion of the whole program, the disseminnation plan, the evaluation plan, the financials and the GANTT chart, discuss the implementation of the activities, discuss about the result of the Round Tables.

– 2 Round table that will last 2 days for preparation and procedural issues in Thessaloniki. In the first one they will present the EU good practices for equal and fair participation of people with fewer opportunities in sport, and in the second one the team members and the coach will present to the participants the policies and conditions for the support and integration of people with less opportunities in sports and society

– final workshop in Thessaloniki participants will present the results of the project.

The results that young people are expected to achieve are: • Develop their knowledge on the subject. • Develop new personal ambitions • Prepare and encourage them to take an active part in sports • Raise awareness of the local community about the issue • Awareness of the competencies of the people involved and the field of sport that can promote information in society • Providing ways to claim human rights • Promote a culture of respect and trust, emphasizing climate change in its true existence. • Changing attitudes and perceptions about the value of the environment. • Develop a network of relationships to communicate and support each other.
